About LCME Ukulele Exams 

There are eight LCME Ukulele grades (1–8), plus two introductory levels.

The  Grades 1 to 5 standard graded exams consist of a performance, a rhythm study, a free choice specialism and musicianship questions.

Grades 6 to 8 graded exams consist of a performance, a free choice specialism, an Unprepared Accompaniment and musicianship questions.

The Ukulele Syllabus 2023 is now available and includes, for the first time, requirements for Grades 6 to 8. View the new syllabus here.

Changes and Updates

The Ukulele Syllabus 2023 replaces the Ukulele Syllabus 2019 to mark the inclusion of Grades 6 to 8 to Graded examinations, Recital grades and Performance Awards. The content for the other grades remains unchanged, and previous editions of the handbooks are still valid.
